Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Pneuma Yoga?

Pneuma Yoga is an integrative approach to body and breath work. It blends somatic movement therapy, breath training, and (in one-on-one sessions) hands-on fascia and muscular release. Whether you join a class or book private therapy, the goal is the same — to help you move better, breathe better, and live without pain.

2. What’s the difference between classes and one-on-one therapy?

Pneuma Yoga Classes

  • Small group setting

  • No hands-on work — all movement and breath are self-guided with my verbal and visual cueing

  • Foundational, slow-paced, and highly therapeutic

  • Focused on subtle movement, deep breath awareness, and turning inward

  • Designed to build body awareness, reduce stress, and restore nervous system balance

One-on-One Therapy Sessions

  • Fully customized, private appointments

  • Hands-on muscular and fascial release

  • Personalized breath training tailored to your body’s needs

  • Posture assessment and correction strategies

  • Focused on relieving pain, unlocking muscle patterns, and retraining movement for long-term change

3. Who do you work with?

I work with people who want to:

  • Relieve chronic pain or tension

  • Correct postural imbalances

  • Improve breathing patterns and lung function

  • Reduce stress and regulate their nervous system

  • Regain mobility after injury, surgery, or inactivity

4. What can I expect in a one-on-one therapy session?

We start with a conversation about your goals and current challenges. I’ll assess your posture, breathing, and movement patterns. Then we use a combination of gentle, hands-on fascia and muscle release, targeted breathwork, and specific movement retraining. The goal is to restore natural movement patterns, relieve pain, and improve posture.

5. What can I expect in a class?

Classes are group experiences designed to deepen your body awareness and nervous system regulation. You’ll explore subtle movement patterns, breath awareness, and stillness. These sessions are therapeutic and foundational — ideal for building long-term resilience, even if you’re not currently in pain.

6. Do I need to be flexible or fit to start?

No — you can start exactly where you are. Many clients and students come with pain, limited mobility, or no yoga background. This work is accessible to all ages and abilities.

7. How many sessions will I need?

Some clients feel relief after one session, while others benefit from a series to fully retrain posture and movement patterns. We’ll recommend a plan based on your body’s needs and your goals.

8. What should I wear?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move and breathe easily. For therapy sessions, avoid bulky clothing so I can work effectively with your muscles and fascia.

9. Do you offer online options?

Yes — classes and private breath/movement sessions can be done online. Hands-on therapy is available only in person at my Rochester, MN studio.

10. How do I book?
